Serdal Korkut Avci earned his MSc degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Istanbul Technical University in 1989. His professional career began as a mechanical CAD engineer with TV manufacturer BEKO. While taking a break from his professional career, he spent two years earning his MA in Economics in Baltimore USA. Upon his return to Istanbul, he worked as an R&D design engineer for the appliance manufacturer Arcelik A.S. in Istanbul. After various stints within Arcelik Organization and with other companies – among these his own design agency in Dubai (2005-7)– he took over as head of the Arcelik Industrial Design (AID) team in 2009. As Design Director, he has been responsible for all the brands at Arcelik since June 2015 with a vision to design human centric, unique & innovative products & user experiences for the agile, connected era.
