David Noguera (Chichester, United Kingdom, 1974) has a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and a master’s degree in Tropical Medicine and International Health from the University of Barcelona. After an experience as a doctor in Girona (Spain), he made his first intervention in the field with MSF in 2001 in the Canary Islands, when he participated in an exploratory mission to assist the immigrant population. Since then, his work with MSF has taken him to Somalia, Côte d’Ivoire, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Sudan, Angola, Zambia, India, Timor, Guinea Bissau, Tunisia, Libya, Ethiopia and South Sudan. He has extensive experience in emergencies, has worked in contexts of conflict and displacement, violence, nutritional crises and emergencies related to epidemic outbreaks. During this period he has also been responsible for the Emergency Unit of MSF and operations coordinator in Latin America. F0under of “Cooperativa Humanitaria” (Humanitarian Cooperative), an organization that seeks to increase social awareness of humanitarian crises and the response of NGOs, has worked for institutions such as the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation for Development (AECID) and non-governmental organizations such as the Red Cross, “Acción contra el hambre” (Action against hunger) or “Intermón Oxfam”, among others. He is the president of MSF Spain since October 2016.
