Zeliha Ünaldı completed her master's degree and academic studies in Gender Studies at Middle East Technical University (METU), focusing on gender equality in development. She has continued her career by taking on roles within public institutions, civil society, and international organizations that center on women's empowerment in the field of development. Ünaldı has led numerous technical assistance projects funded by the World Bank, United Nations, and European Union. In 2014, she joined the United Nations Turkey team as a Gender Equality Specialist and currently serves as the Deputy Country Director for UN Women Turkey. She is responsible for various projects addressing violence against women and girls, women's participation in politics and decision-making mechanisms, gender-sensitive refugee support programs, male engagement in gender equality, and transforming stereotypes. Zeliha Ünaldı is one of the 30,000 women who attended the Fourth World Conference on Women held in Beijing in 1995, and she believes in the power of solidarity for "equality for all.”
