Born and raised in Istanbul, Serra Türker was fascinated by the liberating appeal of colours & shades; and how to combine them in harmony. Beginning as a painter, she moved to the United States to study at the Rhode Island School of Design and pursued a path in textile design in New York where she fell in love with accessories design. It was at that moment when she decided to translate her background in fashion into her own brand, and MISELA was born. With a deep connection to her home city, she opened the first MISELA store at Pera, Istanbul; and the second store in Mayfair, London, another city close to her heart. After the iconic herringbone monogram pattern made its debut and gained recognition, Türker’s designs became coveted items with made-to-order personalisation a huge success for her discerning client base. MISELA grew articulately under the designer and creative director, while she experimented with different materials, motifs, and colors. Soon enough, Türker’s designs gained mass, and international appeal.
