After graduating from Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, he completed his residency in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the same faculty. He received training in musculoskeletal ultrasonography at Ghent University (Belgium) and in Slovenia, as well as training in manual medicine at Varna University (Bulgaria).

His primary research areas and teaching focus, both domestically and internationally, include specialized musculoskeletal system injections, musculoskeletal ultrasonography, manual diagnosis and treatment methods, and temporomandibular joint disorders. He serves on the editorial boards and reviewer lists of numerous national and international scientific journals.

He is the 2nd President of the Turkish Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Association, as well as the General Secretary of the Manual Medicine Association and TETAD. He is a member of various committees, including the EUROVISCO (European Viscosupplementation Consensus Group), the ISIAT organizational board, the Target to Treat in Osteoarthritis Working Group, the GUIDA-EHOA working group, the FMSI Committee of Intraarticular Therapy in Sports Medicine, the McMaster University MORE group, and the SIR International Early Osteoarthritis Working Group.

He has conducted numerous studies and projects to promote the use of injection methods and the scientific approach to complementary medicine practices in Turkey. He is a member of the organizing committee for the Injection Camp and the Ultra and Complementary Medicine League.

His research has earned him the 10 Best Papers award at the European Congress of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (Vienna) in 2004 and the Ord. Prof. Dr. Osman Cevdet Çubukçu Mention Award in 2009.

He has held various administrative roles, including Assistant Dean of Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, Coordinator of General Administrative Services at Istanbul University Hospitals, Deputy Chief Physician of Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, and as a representative of specialists on the Board of Directors of Istanbul Faculty of Medicine. He currently serves as the Chair of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Head of the Division of Algology at Istanbul Faculty of Medicine.
