Biography


During his time at Bilkent University, where he earned a place in the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts - Theatre Department, Onur Saylak took on roles in numerous theater productions, including "Ghetto" and "Threepenny Opera" at the Ankara State Theatres, and Nazım Hikmet's "Despite Everything" at Bilkent Theatre. Onur Saylak began his acting career on television with his first leading role in the series "Hisarbuselik," followed by the series "Kod Adı." In 2008, he appeared in the cinema film "Sonbahar," which was screened for the first time at the 15th Golden Boll Film Festival and won the Best Film Award. In 2009, he starred in the film "Denizden Gelen," directed by Nesli Çölgeçen, which received the "Yılmaz Güney Special Award." On television, he has been part of series such as "Hatırla Gönül," "Vatanım Sensin," "Çarpışma," "Kuzgun," and "Babil." In 2015, he presented his first directorial work, a short film called "Orman." In 2018, he participated in the Karlovy Vary Film Festival with his feature film "Daha" and went on to receive various awards at festivals like Berlin, Locarno, Busan, and Antalya. In 2018, he took the director's chair for the series "Şahsiyet," prepared for Puhu TV. In 2022, he directed the Netflix original series "Uysallar," and in 2023, he directed the Netflix original film "Boğa Boğa." He continues his career in both directing and acting.
