He was born in 1976 on the island of Rhodes. When his first novel was published, he was 24 years old. In addition to his novels, which have been translated into more than 20 languages, Günday has also written short stories, theater plays, films, and TV series. He received the Médicis Foreign Novel Prize in 2015 and was honored with the International Hermann Hesse Award in 2022.
