Ersin Kalaycıoğlu is a Senior Fellow at the Istanbul Policy Center and a Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Sabancı University. Prior to joining Sabancı University, he served as the Rector of Işık University from 2004 to 2007, and he was a faculty member at Sabancı University from 2002 to 2004. Throughout his career, he has held positions at several universities in the United States, including as a Visiting Professor in the Department of Political Science at Iowa State University during the Spring semester of 1980-81, and at the University of Minnesota during the academic years 1989-1990 and 1998-1999. From 1984 to 2002, Kalaycıoğlu was a faculty member in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Boğaziçi University, where he also undertook various academic and administrative roles. His academic career began at Istanbul University, where he worked as a doctoral assistant in the Faculty of Economics from September 1977 to September 1982, and as an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Political Science from October 1982 to October 1984. Kalaycıoğlu is a member of the Board of Directors of TESEV, as well as of the Turkish Political Science Association, the Turkish Social Sciences Association, and the Middle Eastern Studies Association of North America.
