Biography



Murat Çağrı Süzer, who started his career at Danone in 2006, successively held positions in sales and commercial marketing. In 2008, he took on a consulting role at the global consulting firm McKinsey and continued to work as a Senior Consultant and Project Manager between 2008 and 2013. During these years, he managed significant projects in various areas such as finance, growth, profitability, transformation, strategy, risk management, human resources, and M&A in both Turkey and abroad. In May 2013, Murat Çağrı Süzer began his role as the Marketing Coordinator at Garanti BBVA Payment Systems. In 2015, he was appointed as the Deputy General Manager responsible for Digital Channels and Commercial Cards at Garanti BBVA Payment Systems. Between 2017 and 2020, he was assigned to an international role as the Deputy General Manager responsible for Retail Banking at BBVA America, where he provided leadership to a team of 5,500 people and managed a business volume of around 60 billion dollars.

As of May 2020, upon returning to Turkey, Süzer assumed the role of General Manager at Garanti BBVA Payment Systems Inc. In June 2022, he took on additional responsibilities, including Garanti BBVA's Consumer Finance, Business Partnerships, and Overseas and Financial Technology Ventures. In September 2023, he assumed further responsibilities, including Garanti BBVA Customer Solutions and Digital Banking. Süzer currently serves as the General Manager of Garanti BBVA Payment Systems and holds the position of Deputy General Manager for Garanti BBVA Financial Technologies, Customer Solutions, and Digital Banking.

Murat Çağrı Süzer's board-level responsibilities include Garanti BBVA Payment Systems Inc., Garanti BBVA Retirement Inc., Garanti BBVA Digital Assets Inc., and Garanti Bank Romania. He is also a board member at Öğretmen Akademisi Vakfı (ÖRAV) and SALT. Additionally, he maintains his roles on the Mastercard Eastern Europe Advisory Board, American Express Global Advisory Board, and Mastercard Global Blockchain Advisory Board. Between 2018 and 2020, he served on the Board of Directors of the Consumer Bankers Association (CBA). Graduating from the Middle East Technical University with a degree in Industrial Engineering, Murat Çağrı Süzer also earned an MBA from INSEAD, with education at both the France and Singapore campuses. He possesses 17 years of experience in the banking and business management fields.
