She graduated from the Faculty of Business Administration in 1994 and from the Fine Arts Painting Department in 2005. She is the winner of the 2012 "Chef’s Duel." Since 2011, she has been involved in the media world as a newspaper and magazine writer and TV presenter. She is known for her work on Turkish cuisine and traditional flavors. Şefika Günyel collaborates with universities and NGOs on projects related to slow food and the economic integration of geographically indicated products. She also participates in regional master class workshops in collaboration with the Tourism Development Agency. In addition to structuring the menus of Anatolian restaurants with traditional seasonal and geographically indicated products, she is a partner and CQ (Creative Director) of the Eg Meze company, where she is reimagining Turkish meze culture.
