Prof. Dr. Nebi Sümer completed his undergraduate studies in Psychology at Middle East Technical University (METU), pursued a master's degree in Developmental Psychology at Hacettepe University, and earned his Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Kansas State University in the United States. With a Fulbright research grant in 2011-2012, Dr. Sümer conducted research at Cornell University in the U.S. After holding positions at Ankara University and METU, he has been a faculty member at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Sabancı University since 2018.
Dr. Sümer's primary research areas include: life-span attachment dynamics and parenting behaviors, transportation and traffic psychology, psychological measurement, the effects of unemployment and job insecurity, and psychology education and teaching. He has conducted extensive national and international research in these areas and has published numerous scientific articles, book chapters, and books. He is a member of the Science Academy Association.
