Hatem Ete, who completed his undergraduate, master's, and doctoral studies in the Department of Sociology at METU, was at Columbia University with a doctoral research scholarship in 2007-2008. He served as the Director of Political Studies at SETA between 2008 and 2014, and as the Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister between 2014 and 2017. He currently holds the position of Faculty Member in the Department of Sociology at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University and Research Director at the Ankara Institute.
