Ahmet Gülüm completed 23 years of his professional volleyball career, spending 11 of those years as team captain for Galatasaray and Arçelik sports clubs. Throughout his sports career, he not only won Turkish and World Championships but also had the honor of wearing the national team jersey 158 times. After his playing career, he served as the president of the Turkish Volleyball Federation and the Turkish Volleyball Foundation, and held international roles in the World Beach Volley Council and the Marketing Commission of the European Volleyball Confederation.

In 2001, he founded Sportsnet, Turkey’s first and only sports related marketing communication agency. Sportsnet grew into a group by expanding into different service areas. Sportsnet Group also represents the world's number one sports agency, Octagon, in Turkey.

Ahmet Gülüm was involved in the establishment of Istanbul Bilgi University's Sports Management Department "BilgiSpor for 6 years. He has also authored many books sharing his experiences in sports-related marketing communication.
