She graduated from the Graphics Art Major of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. From 1992 to 2002, she took office as art director and creative director in Young and Rubicam Reklamevi, Repro and RPM Radar/CDP Europe. She was awarded many prizes in various categories at the exhibitions of GMK (Turkish Graphic Designers’ Occupational Organization) in 1993-2013. She founded Demir Tasarım in 2003. She served as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of GMK in 2006-2012. During 2011-2013 and 2013-2015, she took office as the Vice Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the International Council of Design (ico-D, former ICOGRADA). An academic of the Graphics Art Major in Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Demir acted as a jury member, gave lectures and carried out workshops in the national and international competitions such as GMK, AWDA, EMZIN, Yahşibey Workhops, Grafist 14, and Taiwan International Design Competition. She was a member of the Advisory Committee of 2nd International Istanbul Design Biennial. Today, she continues her works in Demir Tasarım.
