Gizem ÖRGE
Born on 06.04.1993 in Ankara, Gizem ÖRGE started playing volleyball at Batıkent Kültür Sports Club in 2005. She played for this club, name of which was changed as Ankara Eczacı Sports Club at the season after she joined the club, for 4 years. Having been transferred as sweeper to Women’s Volleyball A Team of Bursa Nilüfer Municipality in 2008, and selected to the Youth National Team. Having joined our club as of 2012-2013 season, Örge then played for 1 more year on loan at Nilüfer Municipality, and admitted to A Team of Vakıfbank in 2013 thereafter.
Having won 2 World Clubs Championships, 2 European Champions League Championships, 3 Turkish League Championships, 2 Turkish Cup Championships, 2 Turkish Super Cup Championships, and become Runner Up twice at European Champions League Championships, she was also awarded as “the best sweeper” at the final series of Turkish League in 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 seasons as a Vakıfbank player.
Having further won World’s Number 4, Youth Olympics Championship, and Balkan Championship, Gizem played in the Women’s National Volleyball A Team which won the European League Championship in 2014. She also played in the national team which won U-23 World Championship in 2015, and awarded as “the best sweeper” at the end of the tournament.
Cansu ÖZBAY
Born on 17.10.1996 in İzmir, Cansu Özbay was brought up at the youth club of Arkas Sports. Having been transferred to Beşiktaş in 2014, Cansu joined Nilüfer Belediyespor at the second half of the same season. Having completed the 2015-2016 season in Beşiktaş, and played part in the team’s qualification to Turkish Premiere League, Cansu was then transferred to Vakıfbank before the 2016-2017 season.
Having played also in the lower age categories of the national team, this successful setter of 1.82 m height is still selected to U-23 National Team squad. Cansu won 1 World Clubs Championships, 2 European Champions League Championships, 1 Turkish League Championship, and 1 Turkish Cup Championship as a Vakıfbank player.
Ting ZHU
Born on 29.11.1994 in Henan, Zhu Ting began her volleyball career in 2008/Henan. Having played in Guangdong Evergrande for some time in 2013, she won third rank in 2013 FIVB World Clubs Championship in this team. Having returned to Henan Huawei team next season, the successful spiker played in this team until the end of 2016 season. Zhu Ting was then transferred to Vakıfbank before 2016-2017 season. She won 1 World Clubs Championships, 2 European Champions League Championships, 1 Turkish League Championship, 1 Turkish Cup Championship, and 1 Turkish Super Cup Championship as a Vakıfbank player.
Having drawn attention particularly with the performance she displayed in the national teams, Zhu Ting of 195 cm height has been elected to her country’s National A Team since 2013. Having made her debut at national team level in 2012, Zhu won gold medals with Chinese National Team in 2015 FIVB World Cup and in 2016 Olympic Games. Having graduated from the Coaching Department of the Sports College of Zhengzhou University, the achievements that Zhu Ting has succeeded are as follows:
Kübra ÇALIŞKAN
Born on 13.10.1994 in BURSA / OSMANGAZİ, Kübra ÇALIŞKAN started playing volleyball in Nilüfer Belediyesi Sports Club when she was 12. She was rose up to A Team of this club when she was 15. Having been transferred to Vakıfbank as of 2012, this young midfielder played at Nilüfer Belediyesi on loan for 1 year. In the same season, she won Turkish Championship with Vakıfbank Youth Team. Having been admitted to Vakıfbank A Team before 2013-2014 season, this young midfielder won 2 World Clubs Championships, 3 European Champions League Championships, 4 Turkish League Championships, 3 Turkish Cup Championships, and 2 Turkish Super Cup Championships in this club. She won European and World Championships, and became runner up in Balkan Championship as a National Rookie Team player. She also played in the National Youth Team which won European Championship, became 5th at World Championship, and won Balkan Championship.
Having played for the lower age categories of the national team, she has been playing for the National A Team since 2012. Having played in the National A Team which won the European Championship in 2014, won the gold medal at 2015 European Games, Kübra won silver medal in U-23 National Team at U-23 World Championship.
Kelsey ROBINSON
Born in 25.06.1992 in Elmhurst/Illinois, Kelsey Robinson graduated from Nebraska-Lincoln University as of 2013. With 188 cm of height, and playing at spiker position, Robinson played for Imoco Volley Conegliano team last season, with which VakıfBank played at the final of 2017 CEV Champions League. Having been selected to the dream team of the same championship, Kelsey also won the individual award of the best spiker. Robinson also won bronze medal at 2016 Olympic Games, and gold medal at 2014 World Championship in USA National Team.
Melis GÜRKAYNAK
Born on 20.04.1990 in Ankara, Melis Gürkaynak has graduated from the Business Administration Department of Bahçeşehir University. She completed her master’s degree studies at the Advertising and Brand Communication Department of Bahçeşehir University. Having started playing volleyball when she was 9 at the youth club of Vakıfbank Sports Club, which was domiciled in Ankara at that time, this successful midfielder was only 15 when she came to İstanbul and began playing at the A Team of Vakıfbank. She played on loan for Galatasaray in 2008-2009 season, and for Beşiktaş in 2009-2010 seasons. Having won championships in Vakıfbank team thereafter, Melis finished 2014-2015 season in Galatasaray, and then returned back to Vakıfbank.
Having won 2 World Clubs Championships, 4 European Champions League Championships, 4 Turkish League Championships, 3 Turkish Cup Championships, and 1 Turkish Super Cup Championship, and became runner up for 3 times at European Champions League, and for once at World Clubs Championship in Vakıfbank, Melis made her debut in the national team in 2004. She played for the National Youth Team which became runner up at World Championship in 2007, and became 3rd at European Championship in 2008. She also played in Turkish National A Team which became runner up at the Europa League in 2015.
Ayça AYKAÇ
Born on 27.02.1996 in İzmir, Ayça AYKAÇ started playing volleyball in Bursa Büyükşehir Belediyespor Club when she was 10. Having joined the youth club of Vakıfbank as of 2009, and played at all age categories of this club, the player still studies in Yeditepe University.
She won Turkish Championships for once in Rookie Girls, and twice in Youth Girls Club, and for 3 times in PAV League. In 2014-2015 season, alongside Vakıfbank Youth Club, she also played for İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediye Spor Club with double license.
Ayça won 1 World Clubs Championship, 2 European Champions League Championships, 2 Turkish League Championships, and became runner up in European Champions League Championship as a Vakıfbank player.
As a National Team Player, she won 3rd rank at 2013 Rookie Girls European Championship, and 2014 Youth Girls European Championship. She also won “the best sweeper” award at 2015 Youth Ladies Balkan Championship.
Lonneke SLOETJES
Lonneke SLOETJES was born on 15.11.1990 in Wisch / the Netherlands. Playing at setter’s diagonal position with 192 cm of height, the player also has spiking height of 322 cm, and blocking height of 315 cm.
Having started her professional career in 2006 in Lichtenvoorde team of her country, she then played for Heutnik Pollux in the same country throughout the seasons of 2009-2011. Having been transferred to USC Münster team in Germany as of 2011, and after having played there for two seasons, Sloetjes was then transferred to Unendo Yamamay Busto Arsizio team in Italy. Having stayed in Italy for one year, the Dutch player returned back to Germany, and played for Schweriner in the season of 2014-2015.
Having been transferred to Vakıfbank before the season of 2015-2016, Lonneke became runner up in European Champions League Championship and won Turkish League Championship in her first season, she won World Clubs Championship in the next season, and 2 European Champions League Championships later on.
Having won the silver medal in Dutch National Team at 2015 European Championship, Lonneke became 3rd at 2016 FIVB World Grand-Prix with her national team. Having played for her national team at 2016 Olympic Games, she managed to reach semi-finals thereat.
Buket GÜLÜBAY
Born on 28.02.1999, Buket GÜLÜBAY started playing volleyball in Vakıfbank when she was 12. Having won Turkish championships twice in a row in both rookie and youth team categories of Vakıfbank team, the 1999-born setter played on loan in Bahçelievler Volleyball Club at the last season.
Having won another Turkish championship with Vakıfbank Youth team at the end of the same season, Buket GÜLÜBAY managed put on the Crescent-Star Jersey at all age categories of the national team. Having become 4th at the World Championship with the Rookies National Team, and won the championships at Balkan Cup and at EYOF, 19 years old player played in the Youth National Team which became third at European Championship, and fourth at the World Championship.
Derya CEBECİOĞLU
Born on 24.10.2000, Derya CEBECİOĞLU started playing volleyball at Vakıfbank Sports Club when she was 14. Having won the cup at Turkish Rookies Championship with Vakıfbank, 2000-born spiker won Turkish Championship twice in a row with Vakıfbank Youth Team. Having played on loan at Bahçelievler Volleyball Club last year, Derya CEBECİOĞLU won Balkan Championship in 2014 with Minors National Team. 18 years old spiker played in U-18 and U-20 national teams which became fourth in the respective world championships. She also became runner up at Balkan Championship, and fourth at European Championship with U-19 National Team.
Ebrar KARAKURT
Born on 17.01.2000, Ebrar KARAKURT started playing volleyball at Vakıfbank Sports Club when she was 12. Having won Turkish championships twice in a row in both rookie and youth team categories of Vakıfbank team, the 2000-born spiker trained, and managed to play in several matches with the A Team at the last season. Having won the World Championship with the U-23 National Team, Ebrar KARAKURT won “the Best Spiker” award at the world championship where she played in the U-18 National Team. Milena RASİC
Born on 25.10.1990 in Pancevo/Serbia, Milena started playing volleyball at Sumadija AV Belgrad Team when she was 12. Having signed her first professional contracy with Dinamo Pancevo in 2007, she played for this team for 3 years. Having been transferred to France’s RC Cannes Team as of the season 2010-2011, the successful midfielder made her real breakthrough in this team. Having succeeded to become the indispensable player of the team for 4 years, Rasic won 4 league and cup championships in a row thereat. Having won the bronze medal in 2010, and the silver medal in 2012 at European Champions League with the same team, the player was then transferred to Vakıfbank before the 2014-2015 season. With 193 cm of height, the player also has spiking height of 312 cm, and blocking height of 293 cm.
Among the countless achievements the player succeeded with Serbian National Team, she won 1 European Championship, became 3rd for once at European Championship, runner up for once at the World Cup, won 3 Europa League Championships, and became 3rd for twice at the World Grand-Prix. Having played for her national team at 2012 London, and 2016 Rio Olympic Games, and won the silver medal in Rio, Milena RASİC won 1 World Clubs Championship, 2 European Champions League Championships, 2 Turkish League Championships, 1 Turkish Super Cup Championship, and became runner up at European Champions League for once with Vakıfbank.
Tuğba ŞENOĞLU
Born on 02.02.1998 in Tarsus, Tuğba ŞENOĞLU started playing volleyball at Tarsus Belediyespor when she was 10. She was then transferred to the Youth Club of Vakıfbank Sports Club when she was 14. She won Turkish Rookies and Youth Championships in 2013-2014. Having played on loan for one season in 2014-2015 at the A Team of İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediye Sports Club, she then played for one season at the A Team of Beşiktaş in 2016-2017. She was then admitted to the A Team of Vakıfbank in 2017-2018 when she was 19.
Having become fourth at the European Championship, and won Balkan Championship for 3 times with the National Rookies Team, she further became third at the European Championship, and fourth at the World Championship with the National Youth Team, and won the World Championship with U-23 National Team.
Zehra GÜNEŞ
Born on 07.07.1999 in İstanbul/Kartal, Zehra Güneş started playing volleyball at Vakıfbank when she was 12. She won Turkish Championships twice in a row at both rookie and youth categories. While remaining among the contracted players of this team, she played on loan at İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesi for one season. She won Turkish Championships both in PAF and youth team in the same season. She then played for Vakıfbank’s team having promoted from League 3 to League 2 in the season 2015-2016. In 2016-2017 season, she played on loan at Beşiktaş. At the end of the season, she won Turkish Championship again with Vakıfbank Youth Team. She played in the National Rookies Team which became fourth at the World Championship, won Balkan and EYOF Championships, in the National Youth Team which became third at the European Championship, and fourth at the World Championship, and in the U-23 National Team which won the World Championship.
