Serdar Urçar, the General Manager and Executive Board Member of Netaş International Markets, has served as an officer in charge of sales, project and solutions of the company in international markets since March 2018. Netaş’s International Markets Project Directorate, Product and Solution Directorate, Sales Directorate and Sales Support teams are reports of Mr. Urçar. Prior to joining Netaş, he worked as a member of the Advisory Board at Index Group, where he managed a strategic digital transformation project. Since April 2017, he’s been an Independent Board Member at Ekoten, a textile and ready-clothing company within Sun Group, pursuant to corporate sustainability vision. Serdar Urçar embarked on his professional career in the Financial Audit department of Arthur Andersen,  and continued his career at Karma Bilgisayar, a distributor of international IT products. He then joined the core team of Superonline, which was at the stage of incorporation as an Internet service provider at the time. Serdar Urçar embarked on his HP career that would last for about 19 years in 1997 to establish the Financial Services division in Turkey. Following the merger of HP-Compaq in 2002, he was appointed as the General Manager of Personal Systems Group. In 2007, he moved to Dubai to become the Middle East General Manager of the same business group. In October 2008, he was appointed as General Manager of HP Turkey and worked as Sales-Distribution Channels and SME Market Regional Director of HP MENA (Middle East, Mediterranean and Africa) region from 2013 to mid-2016. In addition, as from 2005, Urçar has invested in some new ventures and entered into angelic investment and entrepreneurial ecosystem. He engaged in mentoring in order to share his experience and expertise within the ITU Core early stage incubation center and as part of Mentors Network Turkey network for some time, and is among the Founding Members of the Board of Trustees of  Turkey Entrepreneurship Foundation.  Serdar Urçar, a Board Member of  IT Industrialists Association (TUBISAD), which focuses on expansion of IT sector in Turkey, shares  his opinions about leadership, digitization and philosophy of life in his blog called “Aklımdan Geçenler (Things on my mind)”. He is also a member of the Fenerbahçe Sports Club Congress. He is married with two daughters. After graduating from Marmara University Department of Business Administration in English, he received his MA degree in European Policy and Economics from the Jean Monnet Institute of the same university. He completed INSEAD’s Young Leaders Executive Training Program as part of his management career and training in 2005.
