Head of Big Data & Advanced Analytics at Vodafone

Cengiz Ucbenli is the founder and the Head of Big Data & AI department at Vodafone Turkey and is responsible for overseeing a range of data-related functions that include data governance, data strategy, and advanced analytics. All CVM activities, network investment decisions, credit risk models, and external data monetization use-cases of Vodafone Turkey are currently powered by the machine learning models developed by his team.


Prior to joining Vodafone, he worked as Senior Vice President at Garanti Payment Systems where he founded and led Marketing Analytics Department on a range of critical projects including optimization of CRM campaigns, personalization of customer journeys on digital assets, external data monetization, credit card risk models, and sales channel optimization.


Cengiz embarked on his professional career as a manager in Strategic Analysis and Information Management department of American Express in New York City, leading various impactful research and analytics projects.


He holds a Ph.D. degree from Columbia University in the City of New York, which he earned with a full scholarship, an M.B.A degree from Bogazici University, and B.Sc. degree from Istanbul Technical University.
